A note from my Dad:
This time it's Americans, dealing with maybe the worst natural disaster in our history. So unleash the charity genes and send 'em some help. I like the Sally (Salvation Army) but church or the Red Cross will do. I'm partial to the Sally because they were always first in and last out to every county disaster scene I was sent to. No fanfare, no hands out for the moola, just there cranking out the coffee, sandwiches and whatever was needed. If they had it, it was yours with no questions asked.
