Been so busy, I forgot to post!
Kevin Chisholm McDonald was born January 14th at 5:45pm. 6 pounds 9 ounces and 18.5 inches of healthy baby boy. He has a great story for his baby book... Boat to SB, my brother's house getting wrecked by a mudslide, my sister going into labor, Geraldo Rivera at the hospital and a flat tire thrown in for good measure... Here are some photos Wednesday, January 12

Just in case LA goes into labor while on the boat, I'll have this with me
and yes, I am beginning to FREAK OUT. I just read that they did 2 emergency births in Ojai on Monday (LA's doctor did them) and they had to cut the clamp on the umbilical cord with wire cutters from the maintenance man!

I got an early morning call the other day, a mudslide rousted my brother and family out of their house in Casitas Springs. I barely made it down there, lots of boulders and mudslides to navigate. An hour later and I wouldn't have made it. We surveyed the damage yesterday. What a mess. Mud up to the windows and in the house. The neighbor across the way fared even worse, looked like about 8 feet of mud around his entire house, cars encased in mud. animals missing. Of course it could have been much worse, witness La Conchita.

heard through the grapevine this morning that they may not open the 101 until Saturday! maybe they're being conservative, but I'm not taking the chance. LeighAnn's due-date was Jan 10th, and I've been sweating bullets since all roads were closed out of here... LA's doctor is now practicing in Santa Barbara because the malpractice insurance forced her into a group... she took the boat out yesterday, and as far as I know there are no OBs left in Ojai.
Now to get Caroline pawned off, get the cat boarded, etc... Did I say my palms are sweating? They are. Sunday, January 9
